WHO WE ARE
Dataslid Softwares is a technology training and software development company registered and operating in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. We operate two service lines: Dataslid Academy (tech training and SIWES/IT industrial placement) and Dataslid Softwares (website, app, and custom software development). These terms apply to both service lines. Where a term applies to only one service line, it is stated clearly.
TRAINING ENROLMENT & FEES
Enrolment in any Dataslid Academy course is confirmed only after payment of the registration fee and at least the first instalment of the course fee. Verbal agreements, WhatsApp conversations, or expressions of interest do not constitute confirmed enrolment. Your spot in a cohort is only guaranteed once payment is received and we have sent you a written confirmation.
Course fees are communicated to you before you pay. We do not change fees after confirmation. If fees change for a future cohort, existing enrolled students are not affected.
We offer instalment payment plans for most courses. The instalment schedule is agreed at the time of enrolment and must be adhered to. Failure to meet instalment payments may result in suspension from classes until the outstanding balance is settled. We will always communicate with you before taking any action — we are not in the business of embarrassing students.
REFUND POLICY
We know the refund question is the one most people are looking for, so we are stating it clearly.
- Training courses: if you withdraw before the course begins, you are entitled to a refund of the course fee minus the registration/administrative fee, which is non-refundable. If you withdraw within the first week of the course, you may be entitled to a partial refund at our discretion, depending on circumstances. No refund is issued after the first week of classes under any circumstances, including personal emergencies, relocation, or change of mind.
- SIWES and IT placement: the administrative and placement fee is non-refundable once your acceptance letter has been issued and your start date confirmed. If we are unable to honour your placement due to our own capacity issues, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid.
- Software development projects: for website and app projects, the initial deposit (typically 50% of the project cost) is non-refundable once work has commenced. If you cancel a project mid-way, you will be billed for the work completed to that point. If we fail to deliver within the agreed timeline due to our own fault, we will either complete the work or negotiate a fair refund — we will not keep your money for work we did not do.
SIWES & IT INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT
Placement at Dataslid Academy is subject to availability. Applying does not guarantee a placement — confirmation is only given after we have reviewed your application and confirmed space in the relevant cohort.
Students are expected to arrive on time, treat the office environment and equipment with respect, and engage genuinely with the tasks assigned to them. A SIWES placement is a working arrangement, not a passive observation. Students who are consistently absent, disruptive, or disrespectful may have their placement terminated without a refund.
We will sign your logbook and provide your supervisor’s report at the end of a completed placement. We do not sign logbooks for placements that were not completed, partial signatures can be requested only where circumstances are beyond the student’s control, and are granted at our discretion.
We do not fabricate logbook entries, sign for days not attended, or backdate industrial training records. Students who request this will have their placement terminated immediately.
We issue acceptance letters on Dataslid Softwares letterhead. We do not issue letters on behalf of institutions we are not affiliated with, and we do not forge or misrepresent accreditation.
STUDENT CONDUCT
Students enrolled in any Dataslid Academy programme are expected to maintain a respectful and professional environment for themselves and for others. This includes arriving on time, completing assigned work, and treating instructors, staff, and fellow students with basic courtesy.
We reserve the right to remove any student from a programme — without refund — if their conduct is disruptive, abusive, or harmful to others. This includes harassment of any kind, theft, wilful damage to equipment, or deliberate sabotage of other students’ work.
We have zero tolerance for academic dishonesty. Submitting someone else’s project as your own, fabricating reports, or cheating in any form will result in immediate removal from the programme.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
All software development engagements begin with a written proposal that outlines scope, timeline, deliverables, and cost. Work begins only after the proposal is accepted and the deposit is paid.
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information required for your project which includes business name, branding assets, content, login credentials where necessary, and timely feedback at each review stage. Delays caused by late client responses will extend the timeline accordingly. We are not penalised for delays that are on your end.
All code, designs, and digital assets produced by Dataslid Softwares for your project become your property upon full and final payment. Until full payment is received, all work remains the intellectual property of Dataslid Softwares. We reserve the right to withhold delivery of final files until payment is complete.
We do not guarantee specific search engine rankings, social media follower counts, or business outcomes from any digital product we build. We build to best practice and results depend on many factors outside our control, including how you use and maintain what we build.
Third-party costs like domain registration, hosting, premium plugins, stock photos, API subscriptions and so on are not included in our project quotes unless explicitly stated. We will always flag these costs to you before any third-party purchase is made.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Dataslid Academy course materials such as slides, handouts, project briefs, videos, and any other materials we produce and share with students and so on, remain the intellectual property of Dataslid Softwares. You may use them for your personal learning. You may not reproduce, resell, or distribute them without written permission.
Recording of classes, either audio or video, without prior consent from the instructor is not permitted.
PRIVACY
We collect your name, email address, phone number, school or institution name, and course interest when you apply or contact us. We use this information to process your enrolment, communicate about your placement or course, and occasionally send you relevant updates about Dataslid Academy. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not spam.
If you would like your data removed from our records, contact us at dataslidacademy@gmail.com and we will action your request within 10 working days.
ACCOMMODATION
Dataslid Academy does not provide student accommodation. However, we understand that many of our students travel from outside Osogbo, from Ile-Ife, Ede, Ilorin, Ogbomosho, and further,to study or complete their SIWES with us.
We are happy to share informal recommendations for affordable accommodation options near our Osogbo office when you ask. These are recommendations only — we are not responsible for the quality, safety, or suitability of any accommodation we suggest, and we have no formal arrangement or commission relationship with any accommodation provider.
If you are relocating for your SIWES or course period and need help finding somewhere to stay, reach out to us on WhatsApp before your arrival. We will do our best to point you in the right direction.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Dataslid Softwares is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use of our training services or software products. Our liability in any matter is limited to the fees you paid for the specific service in question.
We do not guarantee employment, freelance income, or any specific career outcome from completing a Dataslid Academy course. Training equips you with skills — what you do with those skills is your responsibility.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If a change significantly affects your rights, we will make reasonable effort to notify enrolled students directly.

If you have a complaint or dispute, contact us first. Most issues can be resolved quickly when both parties communicate directly and in good faith. We take complaints seriously and will respond within 5 working days.
